Joint briefing after the talks of the President of Kazakhstan and the President of Serbia

In his speech, the Head of State noted that Kazakhstan considers Serbia as an important and promising partner in Europe.

- Our countries have established a relationship of trust. Today we discussed ways of strengthening our cooperation. The main objective is to develop trade and economic cooperation, which potential is used loosely. We agreed to hold in 2016 the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation, - said the President of Kazakhstan.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that about 20 joint ventures with participation of the Serbian capital operate in construction and trade sectors.

Kazakh President outlined a number of measures to increase joint interaction.

- We exchanged views on the mutual use of transport and transit potential of Kazakhstan and Serbia in the context of increasing the volume of freight traffic between Asia and Europe. We discussed the possibility of cooperation in the framework of the single market of the Eurasian Economic Union. The development of our partnership will promote the signing of agreements on avoidance of double taxation, international road transport, cooperation in the legal sphere - said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The Head of State added that an important part of the talks was cooperation between Kazakhstan and Serbia in the international arena.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted  satisfaction of both sides with the outcome of the Serbian President’s visit to Kazakhstan.

- The results of negotiations showed a common desire to expand cooperation across the spectrum of bilateral cooperation, - said the Head of State.

In conclusion, the President of Kazakhstan thanked T.Nikolich and the Serbian side for the trust, mutual understanding and fruitful cooperation.

In turn, Serbian President underlined that his country supports the development of relations, especially in economic terms.

During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia T.Nikolich to Kazakhstan a number of bilateral documents were signed.
