Visit to “Milk of Sinegorye” processing plant in Kokshetau

March 16, 2015

During a visit, Nursultan Nazarbayev got acquainted with an infant food production facility.

The Head of State familiarized himself with agricultural products that are produced in the region.

The President met with employees of the enterprise and agricultural producers of the region. The farmers shared their success stories and thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the continuous support provided by the government for agricultural development of the region.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that Akmola region is a major food supplier of the capital.

“The government provides tremendous support to farmers.  Since 2009, farm subsidies allocated to the region have increased by 8 times. With this in mind, I set before you the task of providing the capital with your products. Astana is a natural consumer, which is located nearby. The capital is getting bigger; therefore the consumption of food will increase as well. In general, along with other northern regions of the country, Akmola region is the breadbasket of global significance. Today Kazakhstan’s wheat is a recognizable brand. The resources of our country are taken into account while determining the amount of global food reserves. In this regard, we have a great responsibility to further increase the volume and quality of agricultural products,” he said.

The plant has a processing capacity of 160 tons of milk per day. The company employs about 175 people. The majority of production is sold in domestic markets.
