Prime Minister Karim Massimov, Chairmen of Senate and Majilis of the Parliament Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Ural Mukhamedzhanov, Head of the Presidential Administration Aslan Musin, members of the Government, deputies of the Parliament and Managers of the Nur Otan Party took part in the solemn ceremony.
More than 400 war veterans from all the regions of the country, from the cities of Astana and Almaty, residents and visitors of the capital attended the ceremony.
The President observed a one-minute silence in honor of the Kazakhstani soldiers who gave their lives for the peace and future of their country.
Then the composite military units of the Republican Guard, the Ministry of Defence, the National Security Committee, the Ministry of Interior Affairs and the Zhac Ulan Republican Military School marched in the parade before the President - the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Following the official ceremony, Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated the war veterans on the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and wished them good health and wellbeing.
