Azamat K. Abdymomunov was born in 1975 in Almaty.
In 1997, he graduated from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in 1999 - Graduate School of Public Administration at John Harvard Kennedy School, and in 2011 – Massachusetts Institute of technology.
From 1997 to 1999, he was as Freelancer, Freelance adviser to the Chairman of the Agency for strategic planning and reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 1999 to 2000, he worked as Chief analyst of the Department of Strategic Planning, Chief manager of the Department of Strategic Planning and Foreign Economic Relations of “Kazakhoil” National oil and gas company” JSC.
From 2000 to 2001, he served as Head of the division of analysis and management of defense resources of the Department of economy and finance at the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.
From 2001 to 2002, he worked as Head of the division of automation and geo-information systems, Head of the Department of new technologies and target programs of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
From 2002 to 2004, he was the Head of the Centre for system studies at the Presidential Executive Office of Kazakhstan.
2004-2005 – head of the Center for system studies of the Department of economic policy of the presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2005 to 2007, he served as Vice-Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan.
From 2007 to 2008, he was the Chairman of the Board of the National Scientific and Technological Holding “Samgau” JSC.
From 2008 to 2012, he worked as Freelance adviser to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
From 2012 to 2014, he was the Chief of the Centre for Strategic development and analysis oat the Presidential Executive Office of Kazakhstan.
From 2014 to 2015 – Deputy Secretary of the Security Council – Head of the Secretariat of the Security Council of Kazakhstan.
In June 2015, by the Presidential Order, he was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan.
Master degree in International relations, Master degree in State policy in international and national security, Master of science in system design engineering.
He speaks English, Arabic and German.
He is awarded with the Order “Qurmet” (honour) (2014) and medals.
