The Head of State receives the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov

Welcoming the head of the Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev underlined the high dynamics of development of Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation in all spheres of interaction. According to him, Kazakhstan attaches priority to further strengthening of relations with brotherly Uzbekistan.

Noting President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's significant contribution to the deepening of bilateral relations, the Head of State expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to continue supporting Uzbekistan's initiatives for the well-being and prosperity of the peoples of our region.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation, stressed the importance of finding new points of growth and increasing the volume of trade turnover between the two countries.

The Head of State emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation in the transit and transport sector. Kazakhstan has commenced the construction of a railway line from Darbaza to Maktaral, which will subsequently provide access to the border with Uzbekistan. This development will contribute to an increase in the volume of freight traffic.

The President of Kazakhstan highlighted the mutually beneficial nature of Uzbek involvement in the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.

In turn, Bakhtiyor Saidov thanked the leader of our country for the warm reception and conveyed to him the best wishes of the President of Uzbekistan.

According to the minister, the leaders of two countries set a high bar for strengthening allied relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In this regard, Bakhtiyor Saidov shared plans for joint work to ensure quality implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest level.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed issues of cooperation in the water sector and maintaining regional security in Central Asia.

They also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral meetings and events.
